"Ms Rosa Parks"

Life-size bronze sculpture
Commissioned by Troy State University for the Rosa Parks Museum and Library opened December 2000 on the 45th anniversary of Ms. Parks arrest. Located at the very site where she boarded the bus and then refused to give up her seat. Her action, along with others that day, fueled the civil rights movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that began with the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
A second casting of this piece is the centerpiece of the Rosa Parks plaza in downtown Dallas Texas and was commissioned by DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit).
